Description:

Don’t get stuck doing the same work over and over this summer. Beat the heat and join us at 10,000+ feet in a National Monument close to SUU. Our team is seeking physically fit, motivated individuals who like a variety of work and are excited to learn on the job. We will be working on trails, buildings, water systems and other outdoor features. The intern will work under the supervision of laborers in the Cedar Breaks maintenance department and perform a variety of maintenance related tasks. Come be part of a great team!

Responsibilities & Duties:

The position will be responsible for working alongside Maintenance Workers and providing assistance to a large variety of projects including: trail work, custodial work, building repairs and construction, utility repairs, and other facility related tasks. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Snow removal tasks.

  • Assisting in preservation projects and carpentry projects such as the repair and repainting of structures, signs, fences, and utility systems.

  • Facility maintenance such as flooring, cabinets, sheetrock repair, window replacement, etc.

  • Assisting with trail maintenance and reconstruction and campsite and recreation facility maintenance (including custodial duties).

  • Work will be performed outside at 10,000 feet in a range of temperatures and weather conditions.

  • May be required to lift 50-100lbs.

Qualifications:

Consideration will be given to applicants that have:

  • Good communication and team skills.

  • Experience in related fields.

  • Ability to perform strenuous physical exertion including hiking, lifting, carrying, bending, digging and standing.

  • Must be self-motivated, working both independently and as a team.
